Christopher Elsey is a lettercarver with an emphasis on good design and carving skill.
The work is carried out on materials that are almost exclusively indigenous - sandstone, limestone and slate - the actual choice for each commission being sensitive to the environment it is being placed in.
Letterforms are hand drawn, informed by many years of study, practice and reflection.
Commissions include work for The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Horsham, The Wilkie Group, The Churches Conservation Trust (signwriting), The Diocesan Architect for Guildford and the Royal Memorial Chapel, Sandhurst (gilding work)
